For the first time in Hawke's Bay, audiences will have the chance to see the epic smash-hit musical Miss Saigon, without having to travel overseas.

Napier Operatic Society has won the rights for the North Island premiere of the show, which ran for 4264 performances in the West End and 4092 on Broadway.

This love story, set against the backdrop of the final days of the Vietnam war, was written by Claude-Michel Schönberg and Alain Boubil, who together wrote the memorable Les Miserables.
